- [Steve] Hi everybody, my name is Steve Simon, The Passionate Photographer, and welcome to a brand new addition of Photo Critique of the Week. This week I wanted to talk about photographing in cities, and photographing people that might be on the fringes of society. It's something that comes up a lot, and it's something that I kind of feel strongly about, just coming from the background of journalism and photojournalism, and dealing with situations on the street these days. Because the fact is, that when you're traveling in urban centers you're going to see people that are homeless, you're going to see people asking for money, people down on their luck, people who are off the grid, people dealing with a lot of life issues, mental illness, et cetera. And I think it's not a difficult thing to do to sort of sit back and photograph them, without their knowledge, or use a telephoto lens. But I wanted to suggest to you that good photography requires you to get outside your comfort zone…
