- I want to talk about this giant cow in North Dakota. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, the Passionate Photographer, and welcome to another episode of Photo Critique of the Week. This giant cow that I'm alluding to is a set of pictures I did a couple years back, and the reason I want to show it to you is because I think there's a lot to be gleaned and learned from this kind of a project that maybe you might want to replicate. So let's take a look. So my idea for this was, this is a place in New Salem, North Dakota that has this giant cow. It looks small here. So my idea was to include the cow in every picture and create kind of a set of pictures as a little bit of a visual exercise. Each picture has to be strong, but at the same time, I'm looking for things that make sense for each image. So I want to tell a story, and I want to include that cow in all the pictures. So I'm basically exercising my body and my eye in creating compositions that will include the cow in sometimes maybe surprising…
