Makeup and blotters
- Whenever you make a picture of a person, the most important thing is their eyes. They should be bright, and sparkly, and shiny, and draw the viewer's attention immediately. If instead you have shiny spots on the nose, or on the cheeks, or even on the forehead, and the top of the head those shiny spots are really distracting. Your subjects will see them, and they'll just say that they don't even like the photograph. But they're really easy to mitigate for the most part. You can simply use something like these oil absorbing sheets. You just dab the skin with them, and it sucks up the oil that's on the skin. You can use several sheets. You can pick these up just about anyplace makeup is sold. If you don't have these, you can just use tissue paper, or even a cotton handkerchief, and gently dab the skin. You don't want to rub. If you rub, you'll end up making the skin flush, and it may look more red in your photographs. Use these to remove the oil from the skin. You can also use things…
