Manual focus disabled

Manual focus disabled

- I am a huge fan of autofocus in photography because it helps to make sure that I'm acquiring accurate focus. But there are situations, of course, where I want to manually focus the lens, whether I want to pre-focus at a particular distance to improve my autofocus accuracy. Or for example, at night, I very often want to manually focus to make sure I'm getting my focus precise and at the exact right spot in terms of my framing. But what you might find in some cases is you go to adjust the focus on your lens manually and it doesn't let you actually apply that adjustment. The dial won't turn essentially. And that's because with many lenses you need to turn off the autofocus on the lens before you're able to actually change the focus setting on the lens. So bear that in mind that in some cases, if you're going to manually focus, you might actually need to turn off autofocus for the lens before you do so.
