Manual mode

- As you saw in the first part of this course, when your camera is set to program mode it will select shutter speed and aperture for you while program shift and exposure compensation will give you simple tools for modifying that metering. Meanwhile shutter priority mode gives you full time control of shutter speed while aperture priority mode does the same for aperture. In manual mode, you have full control of all parameters all the time. That's what we're going to look at here. Before we get started on that, I'll be honest with you, I don't use manual mode a lot. I really only use it when I'm working with flashes. There are other people who work only in manual mode, maybe because that's how they learned or maybe they like the immediate feedback they get in manual mode. Whether you end up shooting in it a lot or not it's good idea to spend a little time with it now because manual mode gives you a really great interactive, instant feedback mechanism for really seeing the reciprocal…
