Matching color and exposure for video in Final Cut Pro X

- [Instructor] Let's unify the foreground and background a bit. With the clip selected, I'll copy, Command + C, and then Command + V for paste. I'll now drag and put that clip above. Now, this top clip is simple. Let's blur it heavily. From the Blur category, I'll choose Gaussian and drop that on top. Now, a heavy blur will soften things a lot, and we'll boost the blur, as well. You'll notice that you have blend modes, so placing this into Soft Light does a nice job of dropping it down, and then we can lower the opacity. By blurring and blending a copy of the background, what we've done here is created a subtle overlay of color. This is pretty simple. By blending a copy on top, it allows us to introduce a little bit of color. You can dial in the right amount, but this makes it simple to mix the two layers together. Additionally, feel free to select the original shot and apply an additional color corrector. What you don't want to do is process using the original color corrector. I…
