- I've enjoyed making prints of my favorite photographic images ever since I first got started making prints in the wet darkroom way back in high school. And lately, I've noticed some prints that have this special luminous quality about them that I couldn't quite describe. And then I realized what they were and decided to give it a try myself. And that is a metal print. A photographic image that is literally printed on an aluminum sheet, a piece of metal, and it gives it just a wonderful, luminous quality. The image almost seems to just glow with light, much more than a traditional print would. It really has an extra bit gloss to it, an extra bit of luminance, the colors seem to be a little bit more vibrant, it just looks very beautiful. And so I would suggest if you have a favorite image that you think would benefit from a bit more luminous appearance, you might consider getting a metallic print made, a print…
