Mirrorless battery dilemma

- In the early days of digital photography, it seemed like I would go through batteries extremely quickly. Nowadays, I can generally go an entire day with a single battery on my digital SLR. Of course, if the weather is especially cold or there's other issues, maybe I'm using the Live View display quite a bit, I might drain that battery a bit more. But the point is we've gotten to where batteries can last a lot longer than they used to. That said, with mirrorless cameras, we've actually taken a little bit of a step backward, and that's only in large part just to the technology that's available in a mirrorless camera. Because the camera is mirrorless, instead of looking through an optical viewfinder, we're using either an electronic viewfinder or the LCD display on the back of the camera, both of which consume a fair amount of power. We're also essentially always in Live View, and so we're always feeding the signal…
