- Hi, I'm Sean Duggan and welcome back to another episode of Mobile Photography Weekly. Well, I'm standing next to this beautiful river in northern Arizona because the focus for this episode is on photographing water with your camera phone. Now obviously there are many ways that one might choose to photograph water in all the various forms that one might find water in, but this week we're going to be focusing on two areas that can yield really interesting photographs. The first is on using a slow shutter speed to slow down the motion of the water so it renders as a nice silky blur. And then later on we're going to go experiment with some creative use of water reflections. But let's dive into the slow shutter speed first. Now, when you're taking a picture with a native camera app, it is going to be using a regular shutter speed in daylight conditions like this, a fast shutter speed, and the water's going to be rendered very sharp.
