Polarizing filter magic

- It seems to me that every time the subject of a polarizing filter comes up among photographers, the next thing we're talking about or maybe the thing we were talking about before that was clouds in the sky. I always hear photographers talking about using a polarizing filter to enhance the drama of a sky. But to me that's something I could accomplish in post processing and with a polarizing filter with the sky, especially if I'm using a wide angle lens, I might get some gradation of overall tonality going across that sky. To me the real value of a polarizing filter has to do with reflections such as those I'm seeing right here on the surface of the water here at a fountain in Central Park in New York City. I have a polarizing filter here though. That is going to provide me with a solution. A polarizing filter essentially allows me to rotate two polarizing elements.
