Power off for lens changing

- One of the great things about cameras with interchangeable lenses is that you can change lenses. We can switch from a short focal length to a long focal length, for example. But I do see many photographers making a common mistake when changing lenses, and that is leaving the camera's power on. I know in many cases you're eager to quickly switch lenses so that you can photograph a scene that's further away or closer in that doesn't work well with the current lens. But I recommend always making sure that you turn off the power so that you'll help avoid dust on your sensor. If you change lenses with the power turned on, of course there's a risk that dust could enter the camera. But with the power on, the sensor essentially becomes a magnet because of the static charge that that electricity can cause. Simply by turning off the power for the camera when you're changing to a different lens will help ensure that you'll have less dust on your sensor because you won't have that static…
