Saving files in the right vector format

- Once you're done designing a Vector file, it's time to save it for submissions. Now, this is a little more complex than saving a photo. Generally speaking you're going to create an EPS or an Adobe Illustrator file, or perhaps both. You'll also need to make sure that paths are closed and that the artboard has adequate resolution. Also, make sure that the file size isn't too large, and that you create a PDF compatible file. Let's go ahead and export an image from Adobe Illustrator, so you can see the process. Let's take a look at a file here. I'm gonna zoom out so I can see the whole image. Now, how you save the image is really up to you and the exact requirements may vary slightly from different site to different site. Now, what you'll notice is that this particular image has layers, and if I want to make it easier for the end user I might decide to split some things out to their own layers.
