- If you're ever going to apply for a photo related job or enter a photo contest, or maybe apply to a school or art program of some kind, you're going to need to put together a portfolio of images for that particular task and I want to just give you a few tips today on how to do that. And these tips are coming from my perspective at adjudicating some entry portfolios and things for an art program as well as contest before, I just want to tell you some things that I've looked for. Obviously sometimes, if you're entering a contest, it will be a contest with a particular theme and so you need to make sure that your images support that theme. That one's pretty obvious. What I want to talk about is how even within a theme, you need to strive for a particular kind of variety.
