Setting a custom white balance

- Not all light is the same. Different light sources shine with different color temperatures. For example, florescent lights run cool while candle flames tend to be warm. The human eye automatically compensates for these changes, but your camera may need some help. The camera needs to calibrate itself based upon the lighting conditions with which it's shooting under. To change the white balance on your setting, you can either use the menus or access it through a quick button. On the back of this camera for example, you'll notice a white balance button. I can press that and it's going to bring up some choices. And you see we have different choices here based upon the scene. The default choice of Auto is going to allow the camera to automatically adjust to the scene based upon what it thinks is correct. The next choice is Daylight. This is the best option for clear skies. It's about 5200 degrees kelvin. The Shade option is useful if you are shooting under daylight, but you have a…
