Controlling motion blur

- So I want to talk a little bit about motion blur, and ways to avoid getting any motion blur in your image. So, as I said earlier, you do always want to shoot with the longest lens that you have. But what happens when you shoot at a longer focal length? You run the risk of having a little bit of motion blur as you're taking the photo. So the longer the lens you have the more sensitive your camera image is going to be to capturing motion blur, because basically it's moving more as you have a longer zoom lens. A good rule to follow when shooting with the longer lenses is that your shutter speed needs to be two times the length of your focal length of your lens. So for example, I have a 50 millimeter lens here in my hand. And so if I'm shooting with this 50 millimeter prime lens, I want to make sure that my shutter speed is faster than one, 100th of a second, because 100 is two times 50, right? So keep that in mind when you're shooting, when you're changing around your shutter speed…
