- In a previous Practicing Photographer, you saw me do the necessary groundwork to come out here to the middle of nowhere to shoot star trails, long-exposure shots of the sky that are gonna give me nice, smearing, streaking stars circling around overhead. With all of that done, I know that I've chosen a good location and that I'm not gonna have a moon and that I've got clear weather. I've actually come out here, and I'm ready to get started. I've found that there's a colony of 14 million frogs nearby, so I'm going to be hearing that the whole time. I don't think that's actually gonna impact the shot. When we got here, it was actually light, so that's something to think about. Do you want to frame your shot ahead of time when you can still see, or do you want to wrestle with it in total darkness.
