Smartphone exposure adjustment

- When using a traditional camera, we're accustomed to having the ability to adjust the aperture and shutter speed to modify the exposure for the scene. With smartphone photography though, usually the smartphone itself is adjusting the exposure for the scene automatically, but we do actually have some control over that exposure. And that is true for both iPhones and Android phones. The basic process is the same, there's just a minor difference in terms of the icons you'll typically see. But, for example, when I'm framing up a scene, I can tap on the area of the scene that I want to set the exposure and the focus for, but I can also modify the exposure. On an iPhone, when you tap on an area of the screen, you'll see a little sunshine icon over to the right of the box. With the Android operating system, on Android smartphones, you'll see a light bulb indication instead. And I can drag that sunshine or light bulb icon in…
