- Let's move on to talking about some strategies for putting together your next shoot for stock. Now, the advice I'm gonna share with you will work for both photos and video, or if you plan to make illustrations based upon photos or video, and you're going to capture reference images. The first thing to think about is the subject matter itself. I recommend that you try to find an interesting location. This doesn't mean that you have to travel, necessarily, but the location or the setting is a big part of the stock image. Also, it's really become popular to not create staged content. Look for authenticity. The joke within the the stock industry is happy woman eating salad. This, of course, is a close tie to business handshake. These sorts of things have been said and done. And a lot of this content exists in stock libraries, particularly if it's legacy content.
