Touring the viewfinder
- Let's take a look at the optical viewfinder. Now, if you're shooting with a mirrorless Nikon camera, it's not an optical viewfinder, rather, it's a small OLED screen, but the behavior is very similar. First up, I suggest you press the shutter button and let the camera autofocus a little bit. What you're going to notice is that you see through the lens, so as you make adjustments to the camera, it'll adjust inside. Additionally, along the bottom are a series of symbols and numbers. Those symbols and numbers may not be clear to your eye. That's okay, there's a small dial, or diopter, for making adjustments. Place your camera and look through it, and then gently turn that dial. What this is doing is focusing on the screen. And don't pay attention to the image 'cause that could be out of focus because of the lens, but instead, pay attention to the numbers and adjust. Depending upon if you're nearsighted or farsighted or other issues with your vision, you might have to make refinements…
