- In this episode of Photo Gear Weekly, we are visiting Camera Doctor in New York City, which is a treat, I have to tell you. There are countless old and new cameras, I'm especially drawn to the old cameras here, some really interesting stuff, cameras that I've rarely seen and definitely never been able to shoot with, so I want to check those out, but first, we want to talk about sensor cleaning. I'm sure you've had experiences where you get a spot of dust, a little water mark or something on your sensor and every single photo has that spot in the same area, it can be very annoying, aggravating, actually. Now many of today's cameras have automatic sensor cleaning. Quite frankly, that's not going to do a lot for the more troublesome issues. When the dust is dry and it's just settled on the sensor, no problem, it'll shake right off.
