Using creative filters
- Your Canon camera may contain additional special effects that can be used to apply directly to JPEG images, and in some cases you may be able to put these onto the video file as well. Now, in order to use these, you're going to need to access them from the command dial. I'll go ahead and change the command dial here, and I'll switch it to the Creative filters mode. Once I've done that, it'll actually update on the back of the screen as well. You'll notice there as you switch into it, you get a nice preview. Now what we can do is change the filter. And you see we have several different choices. It offers a nice overview of all the different options. Let's start with the first one here. Soft focus is useful to give the image a gentle, soft feel. This can be great for a portrait. The fish-eye effect is going to simulate the wide-angle lens effect and start to distort things.
