- Like many photographers, I shoot in the raw capture mode almost exclusively, and that means that I don't really have to worry about the white balance setting or the color temperature setting in the camera, because I can always fix that setting when I'm processing my raw capture in the computer with no penalty in terms of image quality. But still, it can be very convenient for your workflow to make sure that you've got accurate color right from the initial capture. And sometimes, for example, with product photography, it can be absolutely critical to make sure that you are neutralizing the effect of the color of the light that's illuminating your subject. So, here for example, I have some flowers that I might want to photograph. And the lighting conditions at the moment are a little bit on the warm side. So, if I were to simply photograph these flowers, I would end up with a result that is surprisingly warm, a very yellowish appearance, even for these pink flowers. The backdrop that…
