Using gels to adjust color temperature

- Another way of modifying light is by changing its color. Now, sometimes you want to do this for creativity, and other times you need to do it for color correctness. If there's a tint in the scene, we could use what's called gels to help us change that color. Now let's experiment with a couple. This one right here is a CTO and that means change to orange. So I'm going to attach this to our strobe, fire a shot, and we'll see what this does to the scene. I like to attach the gel to the studio strobe with clothespins. Tape has a tendency of getting very hot, and it leaves a residue on the reflector. Now, let's take some quick shots. Again, I'm going to focus and snap the shot. Let's look at the photo. Notice what it's doing here. It's changing the color temperature and it's giving us a nice, warming color. Now let's take this off. And now let's add blue. Let's focus. Take the shot. That's great. Now, some of these gels actually cut the light. In this case here, I love what it did. It…
