Using texture as a backdrop

- All right, so here we are at another location. The light is open shade, so we have nice, soft, even light. Yet more important than the light here is texture. Whenever you have an old building you want to look for those interesting textural elements. And in a way, they almost become like a studio portrait backdrop where you have a little bit of texture but not too much, so it's not distracting or taking away from the subject. So in an environment like this, what you want to do is bring the subject into that and then experiment with how close they are to the background and then just work within that environment. So, Nikki, you want to come on in, and let's start with getting really close. And maybe scoot a little bit this way to your, there. And stand right against the wall. And then I will start to capture a couple images. Now with these, yeah, this looks great. And look back towards me.
