Using an umbrella to bounce light

- Now, product photography is a great way to start out learning about light modifiers and what lighting does to a subject. If you use an actual model or a subject, you have a tendency of feeling a little bit nervous or you feel like their getting bored as you're trying to experiment on some of your techniques, so it's great to set something up like this and then start to experiment. The first thing we're going to do is, we're going to try to photograph this without any light modifier whatsoever so you can see the difference and what the modifiers can actually do. Now, I'm going to turn my light source onto the products, I'll lock it down. I'm going to take a quite reading to see what my camera settings should be. Now that I have my reading set, I'm going to dial that into the camera and we'll start shooting. I'm going to use a trigger to keep the camera steady so there's no camera shake.
