What to look for in a location

- Another thing that is essential to consider when you're planning ahead for your shoot is a location. What you want to do is start to think about what location might work. Or maybe you're in one of those situations where you're going to photograph someone in a fixed location. You want to check it out ahead of time. You want to take a look at the quantity and the quality of light. What I mean by that is, maybe you're going to photograph them outside, in open shade, and right across from that, there's a building that's white that's going to bounce beautiful white light back into that area. Well, that would work. On the other hand, if that building is painted bright green, and you got green light bounce back into open shade, it probably isn't very good. Or maybe you need to photograph indoors, and you're photographing in a building, maybe like this, and there are tinted windows, which make the light kind of dark and subdued.
