- If you've ever changed an incandescent light bulb, that's a normal looking light bulb, I should just say that, in a lamp or somewhere in your house, to a compact fluorescent or white LED, and then switched the light on and found, wow, the room looks really different, maybe it looks cooler, or more blue, or something like that, then you have experienced the fact that different types of light sources shine with different colors. The sun shines with a particular color. When clouds pass over the sun and make it into shady light, that's a different color, tungsten lights shine in a different color than fluorescent lights. Through all of that, your eye has an incredible ability to adapt itself so that colors look right, regardless of the type of light that you're shooting in. So, you take a white piece of paper outside, it still looks white. You take it into shade, it still looks white. You take it back inside under fluorescent lights, it still looks white.
