- I think every photographer can appreciate the value of a shutter release, but what do you in the context of a smart phone? You can certainly actually in many cases use your headphones as a cable release, but there's also wireless options such as this smartphone Bluetooth shutter which is from iStabilizer and this pairs to the phone via Bluetooth and then it is a wireless remote. It's very easy to set up. Initially I just need to actually connect the Bluetooth, the actual receiver here, so I'll go into my Bluetooth settings, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled, and then I just press and hold the single button on the device here until I see the lights flashing between blue and red in this case. That's my signal that it is ready for Bluetooth pairing. And then once it's paired, I'll see that reflected on my device, in this case an iPhone, and I can go into the app that I want to use.
