- [Instructor] So the question comes up, can I use my smartphone here as a webcam connected to my computer? And the short answer is you can. I'm going to show you a couple apps that allow you to do that but I don't recommend it. What I do recommend is if you need to use your smartphone to connect to a video conference call on the go, just the native app, whether it's iOS or Android, use the Skype app, use Zoom app, whatever it happens to be on the phone itself. So you just use the phone to connect. Don't connect the phone to the computer if you get what I'm saying here. Now, there are a few apps that seem to have pretty good ratings and I've tried one of them. DroidCam, this is for Android. Pretty high ratings. Pretty widely reviewed and people seem to think that it does pretty well in terms of connecting an Android phone to your computer as a webcam. They also came out with an iOS version 4.6 with 53…
