- [Steve] I think that complex compositions where there's a lot going on are some of the most interesting and difficult to get images, but ones that I'm always trying to kind of get. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, The Passionate Photographer, and welcome to a new edition of Photo Critique of the Week. And this week, we're going to do just that. We're going to look at some complex compositions that I think work, and we'll talk about, or at least I'll talk about why and you could agree or disagree and take from what I said, and even that you can use when you go out and try and capture some complex scenes. In this image by Wendy Smith, what, for me, makes it work is the spread if you will of the various boats on the water here, in relationship to the mountains and the foreground of the trees in front.
