Refining the black-and-white image with neutrals, tone, and grain

- Well the black and white slider is quite useful. It lets you decide which colors to emphasize. There are some additional sliders that I like that lets you fine tune the affect. Lets give it a try. Lets go here and open up this particular image. In this case, I want to create a compelling black and white photo. But to do that we'll first pre-process the image. I'll click auto on the button there for exposure to get a good balance for light. And I'm going to recover a bit more of the highlights. Lets bring out rich color contrast as well. And we now have a really strong image with rich color. Which will make a better black and white photo. Now, what I'm going to do is choose black and white and enable it. And drag through until I find a good separation between the different zones . Right about there, is giving me a nice separation on the different parts of the symbol.
