EPS and common vector formats

- Another style of graphic that you'll encounter is a vector graphic. These are typically used for illustrations, but there are very photorealistic illustrations that can be made using modern software. Vector formats are available in many different file types and some of these are source files and others can be used by Office software. What happens is they use polygons to represent images inside of the computer graphic. These are based on vectors which connect to the different control points or nodes, curved lines with color and fill and stroke information to create a graphic. Each node has a definite position on the x- and y-axis and this creates the path. Now, some of the unique features are pretty powerful. These include smooth edges for curves, color gradients that blend very smoothly, and the ability to infinitely resize the image without losing quality.
