- Sometimes after you add an image to a slide, you might want to stylize it. Oftentimes, I find that when I put images onto a slide, I want to use them as a background. Or perhaps a title graphic. And giving them a consistent visual style can be useful. PowerPoint contains some filters that you can use to simplify or stylize an image as well as some advanced color controls that you can use to give it a consistent color cast or a tint. Let's explore them. If you decide to stylize an image in PowerPoint, there are a few options. Simply select the photo that you want to work with and choose the format picture tools. Under artistic effects, you'll find several presets available. If you mouse over each, you'll see it apply to the image and give you an idea of what it's going to look like. In this case, there are several strokes and sketch type effects. Once you've chosen one, you can click to apply it. However, under artistic effects, you'll also find options.
