- [Instructor] In this movie, we are going to look at lens flare and I'm going to show you a couple of useful tricks for working with the lens flare filter that really allow us to get around the limitations of this filter. This is my finished file. Let's now move to the starting state. The first thing I want to do is unlock my background layer and I need to do this because I will be needing to add transparency rather than my background color when I do a later step, so anticipating that, I'm just going to double click on my background layer and then click OK. Next, and here's a crucial point, I actually want to put the lens flare on a layer above my image layer and this is going to allow me to reposition the flare if I need to. So, rather than just come and create a new layer, knowing in advance that I need the blending mode of this layer to be set to screen, I'll hold down the Alt key and click create a New Layer. I'll call this Lens flare. I'll change the mode to Screen and when I do…
