Add a texture with a clipping mask

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'm going to show you how we can use a clipping mask to put texture inside a shape. In the case of this example, how we can put the clouds image inside the shape of the text. Now, by the way, I have converted the text to a shape land, just so that we don't run into any missing font issues. Let's switch to the starting state, and I have my text layout, and I have my clouds layout. I need to make sure that my clouds layout is above the text layout. That's the first thing. I select the clouds layer, and then from the layers panel menu, I choose Create Clipping Mask. I can also use the keyboard shortcut, which is command option G, or CTRL+Alt+G, and you can see then, the above layer is clicked to the layer below. Now, of course, I will also need to add in a solid color fill layer beneath this, so that we don't see the transparency.
