Adding a deckled edge

- There's a variety of different ways that you can add edge effects to your images. One of my favorite ways is to either use a scan or a photograph of a deckled edge piece of paper. So you can either buy a heavy art paper and then tear it yourself and put it on the scanner, or you can go ahead and buy paper that already has the deckled edge. Regardless, I'm going to select these first two images here, and I want to open them in the same document. So I'll choose tools, and then Photoshop, and then load files into Photoshop layers. So if I just want to add an edge effect to a single layer, the easiest way to do this is to reposition the edge on top of the photograph, and then use a blend mode. If I want the black edges, I can change the blend mode to multiply. And because white disappears in the multiply blend mode, all of the inner portion is now transparent. I'll go ahead and undo that.
