Adding depth with layer effects

- [Instructor] All right, now we're going to add a little bit of depth to our shark and to the screws, and we'll be doing so using a few layer effects. And layer effects are another one of these features that are so awesome that I devote an entire chapter to them in a future course. But for now, consider this a preview. Now, notice that the other objects here, such as this cliff, or whatever it is, as well as this falling guy, they're both recessed, which is why we have a kind of shadow cutting into them. They're also a little bit brighter than the shark is. And so I'm going to start by selecting the shark layer, and I'll brighten them up a little bit by clicking on the fx icon down here at the bottom of the Layers panel, and I'm going to choose Gradient Overlay. Now, I don't know if this is really going to be the default behavior where we just see a very light gradient like this, but what you want to do is click this down…
