Adding a gradient
- What's required now is something perhaps to add a bit of shading to the graphics so it just becomes a little bit more believable. So what I'm going to do is long press on the plus icon on the right-hand side in the interface in the options here and add a brand new layer. I then need to focus my efforts on the poster and what I'm going to do is use the underlaying layer to generate me a selection. So if I tap on that layer to make it active, I can then go to the ellipsis at the bottom on the right-hand side and choose load as selection. And that's a really useful thing to be able to do and you can do it as well from layer masks, which we'll see elsewhere in this course. Very, very handy. I'll then make sure that I return my focus to the layer above by simply tapping on it. And then I'm going to add a gradient. Now the gradient tool is nested with the fill tool.
