- [Instructor] Now that we have our primary actor on the stage, I want to pay a little bit more attention to the environment as well as add our secondary or supporting characters. So we'll start by adding the steam. I've got two layers here. It's actually the same layer, just duplicated. And in fact, it's not steam it's smoke, but we're going to make it look like steam. So I'll target the bottom steam layer and then I'll use the blend mode soft light in order to blend that with the background. Now we can see it's added a little bit of contrast and I feel it's a little too strong. So I'm going to decrease the opacity. Maybe they bringing it down to about 80%. I also need to hide the bottom here where we can see this edge. So from the bottom of the layers panel, I'll click on the mask icon, use the right bracket to get a much larger brush and then tap the D key to set my default colors and tap X so that I'm painting with…
