- [Instructor] In this movie show you how to align a layer to an artboard, and we'll also take a look at artboard specific guides. I've gone ahead and restored this tinier version of the document. Notice that the original-sized artboard is expanded here inside the layers panel. I'll go ahead and turn off the text layer, and then I'll select the car. Now, if I switch to the move tool, you can see that I have access to the various alignment options. Now normally, when you're aligning a layer, you first have to draw a selection outline. So for example, if I were to grab the rectangular marquee tool and select a tiny portion of the image like so, and then switch back to the move tool. Now if I clicked on align top edges, I would align the top edge of that selection. If I were to click on align left edges, I would align to the left edge of the selection. However, if you want to align to an artboard, then you don't need a selection. Just go ahead and press Control + D, or Command + D on the…
