Animate a Smart Object
As a photographer, one of the things that I like most about working with video is that I can incorporate motion into my creative projects, not only motion from the video that I'm shooting, but also adding motion to still photographs. In this project that features another clip from The Bear River title sequence, we'll use smart objects to make a danger sign slowly rotate and fall back into the scene, visually echoing the falling person depicted on the sign. So, in this file, I already have converted the sign layer into a smart object. It's already surrounded by transparency. Then, we have this layer group for the bridge. Let's just deconstruct what's going on in there. We have the photograph of the bridge, a couple of adjustment layers. Then underneath that we have a layer that is just filled with white. If we go down to the timeline panel, you'll see that there are already a couple of key frames associated with the bridge photograph that control the opacity. What that does is it is…
