Aperture and overall exposure

- [Deke] In this exposure movie, we'll discuss the role of aperture as well as its effect on the overall exposure. So, the thing to bear in mind here is that aperture is the main method for the light getting to the image sensor and as a result it's going to control the contribution of both ambient and artificial light. So that is to say sunlight along with your strobes. And so as a result, it's going to effect the luminance histogram as well as all three of the red, green, and blue histograms. But before we can see how that works, we need to take a look at the two methods for adjusting strobe power because strobe power and aperture have traditionally gone hand in hand. - [Hergen] The first of the two methods of strobe power control we're going to talk about is manual strobe control. So, here we've got an example of a strobe and you can see there's a control dial on the right and it's labeled as both TTL EV Control and Manual.
