Applying Camera Raw as a filter

- [Instructor] As a photographer, I typically have the luxury of working with my own RAW files. But many designers aren't always so fortunate. So applying Camera Raw as a smart filter is an ideal way to make changes to a photograph non-destructively when it's not practical or possible to return to the original file and make the changes there. Now to make this non-destructive, I will to go to the filter menu and convert for smart filters. And then, I'll choose filter and then Camera Raw filter. Let's make some adjustments starting in the basic panel. I want to darken down my blacks. So I'll move the black slider over to the left. Then I would just want to increase the shadows a little bit to retain a little bit of detail underneath some of this tumbleweed. Then I'll take the overall exposure down a little bit, as well as taking down the highlights to try to recover a little bit of detail in the brightest areas of the image.…
