Applying Photoshop effects to Illustrator art

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll take our Illustrator Smart Object and we'll apply a few effects that are uniquely available inside of Photoshop. Or, are handled better by Photoshop than they are by Illustrator. And the idea is, we're trying to better integrate or vector-based artwork into our pixel-based imagery. And so I'm going to start things off by adding a couple basic layer effects. And so I'll click on the fx icon down here at the bottom of the panel and I'll choose Pattern Overlay. And what this allows you to do is blend a pattern with the active layer. The pattern that I'm going to use is one of the patterns that ships with Photoshop by default. It's this guy right here, the second one in the second row, and it's called Extra Heavy Canvas. Next, I'll crank up the scale value to 200 percent. And then I'll change the blend mode from Normal to Overlay. And then finally I'll take the Opacity value down to 33% to produce this effect here. Next, I'll add a drop shadow, and some…
