Applying digital makeup with Perfectly Clear

- Perfectly Clear includes some basic tools for digital makeup. These can be useful after you've applied skin enhancement or eye enhancement and you want to just bring out the cheeks a little bit for better framing, or adjust the skin tone complexion. Let me show you. In this case, we have a Photoshop file open and it's already got a smart object. Let's apply Perfectly Clear. We have some of the same settings as we've used previously; a little bit of tone, the face has been found, and if we take a look, we're doing a basic enhancement to the eyes here. If I click, you see that the eyes are slightly opened, the dark circles have been removed, quite naturally here, under the eyes, and the face and skin has been smoothed. Let's go with the full body, here, and bump that up just a little bit with stronger blemish removal to remove some of the acne and small blemishes on the face. Now, we can take advantage of makeup. We'll turn on skin toning here, and we could apply it to either the face or the whole body. If we take a look at the swatches, you'll see that there are different settings here. These match typical makeup foundations that are widely used, and we can warm, tan, or add base foundation. And as we make this change here, you'll see that it affects the skin tone. Let's bump this up a bit stronger and we'll go with warming here for a moment, and you see that it tans the skin. Let's go with a stronger tan, and it's even stronger. Now, the 100 is way too strong, so we're going to back that off and just go with a gentle warm, but what this has done is added a little bit of skin toning here to just bring out the warmth in the skin, allowing for a nice recovery. If we look at this here, her overall skin tones are warmer and quite natural, but it's brought out some of the gentle redness. Before and after, evening things out nicely on the body. We could additionally take a look here at blush, and this is going to add color into the cheeks. You'll see, similarly, swatches or you could adjust these by hand. If we click, you'll find the popular colors available here as digital makeup, and you can add these into the cheeks. Let's go with a little bit of a brown. There we go. And just a small amount. If we toggle this on and off you'll see that her complexion has been darkened slightly and the cheeks are brought out gently. With the overall change, the image still looks natural, but the skin has been nicely smoothed, the dark shadows removed, and the overall exposure brought to life. While we're at it, let's go ahead and enable a graduated filter. There we go. And on the outside here I'm just going to darken that down a bit, adding a very subtle vignette. Good. Looks good. And we can click apply. The resulting image is updated in Photoshop, and you see that the makeup controls and other enhancements have been applied, making for a nice overall, yet subtle, change. Notice how the acne has been removed, the skin tones have been evened out, and we have a little bit of gentle color being applied to the cheeks.
