Applying filters to multiple layers
- [Instructor] There might be times when you have multiple layers in your image and you want to filter them all at once. Sometimes this is just for convenience. For example, if I want to add noise to all of these images, I could convert all of the layers into a single Smart Object and then add the filter once. Then if I needed to make changes to the filter, I would only have to change the one filter on the Smart Object instead of four filters, one on each layer. But there's another reason for converting and applying a filter to a single Smart Object, and that's when you want the filter to act as if the layers are merged together, so that the filter is applied across layers. So let's take a look. I have a group here that has four individual layers in it. I'm going to make a quick duplicate by using Command+J on Mac or Ctrl+J on Windows, And we'll just hide that duplicated group for a moment. Then on group one, I'm just…
