Auto Select and the Move tool
- [Deak] In this movie, we're going to talk about the Auto-Select check box which is available up here in the Options bar anytime that the Move tool is active. In the old days it used to be turned off by default nowadays it's turned on. Now a lot of folks love this feature it drives me absolutely nuts. And so my job really is not to convince you one way or other, but just to make you aware that it's there. And so its job is to automatically select whatever layer is underneath your cursor. So let's say for example, I switched to the shark layer but I really want to move the screws around then all I would have to do is drag on a screw and notice that automatically selects the Screws Layer here inside the Layers Panel. So it's kind of a form of intelligence if you will, I don't want to move those screws however, they were already in the right place. So I'll press Control + Z or command + Z on the Mac to undo that…
