- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to be addressing the ever-important topic of focus, and we'll specifically target on the auto-focus modes. So now tell us, Hergen, in your words, why in the world focus is so important when you're photographing underwater? - [Hergen] One of the biggest reasons is you're going to want to show the viewer what they should be looking at. And underwater, this can be quite a challenge because, most of the times, the viewer's not familiar with the type of subject matter that you're photographing. So really being able to direct their eye to the main subject is going to make it easier for you to communicate that subject with your viewer. - [Instructor] And in this case, we've got a Napoleon wrasse, is that right? - [Hergen] Yeah. - [Instructor] But, and he's a fairly identifiable creature because he's an obvious, large fish, a very pretty one as well.
