Boosting contrast with a Levels adjustment layer

- [Narrator] The overall image is looking a little dull, so let's boost the contrast. We'll do that by hitting the three dots at the bottom of the task bar. We'll choose to add a clipped adjustment, and we could give it brightness and contrast, but that doesn't give us quite enough control, so let's choose the levels adjustment instead. If we move the black point to the right, it'll darken up those shadows, and if we move the white point to the left, it'll brighten the whites. Here face is now a little bit blown out, so let's grab the midpoint slider and move that to the right to darken it slightly. Let's hide this layer to see how it was before and unhide it to see how it looks after the levels adjustment. That's better but it's a little bit too strong. Rather than adjusting the individual controls, we can just lower the opacity of a whole of this adjustment, and around about 60% is a good compromise, but her face is…
