Bringing back Refine Mask

- [Narrator] In this movie, I'll show you how to bring back the precursor to the select and mask workspace, which is refined matte, better known as refine mask which a lot of people prefer. And along the way, we'll take this plain old text and we'll turn it into this eye catching topiary type. And so, I'll press shift tab to bring back my right side panels. And for this trick to work, we need to express the text as a layer mask. And you can do that by first converting the letters to selection outlines by pressing the control key or the command key on a Mac, and clicking on the layers thumbnail. So you want to control or command click on that letter T. All right, that's all we needed the text for, so I'll go ahead and hide that layer and then I'll turn on this photographic hedge layer, and I'll select it as well. And then you want to drop down to the add layer mask icon at the bottom of the panel and click on it in order to convert the selection outline to a mask. Alright, now we want…
